2016- A New Year, A New Mindset

You have probably heared it all before:

“Its a new year, so I am going to start fresh. I am going to make wiser decisions, start eating healthy, start working out…”

These so called “New Years Resolutions”, the very act in which we promise to do certain things in this new year; 2016, is somewhat ironic. We all know why. For those who don’t, it is ironic because each year we promise to do or act in a particular manner, yet we revert back to our “previous year self” within a span of a month. There are, however, some that stick to their promises and change their lives. If you happen to be one of those people then I am happy for you πŸ™‚

There are others that are more quirky though πŸ™‚ and say that they view January 2016 as a trial period, so their new year actually starts in February. So to each his/her own. There are indeed different people in the world, each with their own personalities, character and understanding. I think what this all boils down to is a person’s mindset.

Look at it this way, if you tell yourself that you will accomplish this and that in this year and you put a timeline on your goal, the chances are much higher when it comes down to ACTUALLY accomplishing it. So the best thing to do is not to promise to do these things, but to change the way you think and be positive in your thinking that CHANGE itself is very possible.

I think that changing your mindset- having a positive mindset- could be the best thing in the world for you, in my opinion that is.

Used to wonder why..for some reason, after resolutions were made,it was unusually hard to follow through…I agree with you. This is plain old procrastination,it’s just too good a laugh to miss.. you can tell from all the gym commitments/promises people make..within a week it’s all over. Awesome piece.
@ people making January a trial month..does that really happen? Hehe

Thank you for reading, commenting and liking my post πŸ˜„.
I have noticed that some people actually do make January a trial period. They use the month to figure out what works and what doesn’t work for them and they go from there πŸ˜„
